Lichtenstein's skills run in the family. Her great aunt, Etta Weimar, was the famous Romanian card reader to both kings and queens. A native of New York City, Lichtenstein was educated in Europe where she pursued the study of tarot and astrology. She returned to New York in 1974 and has lived in Greenwich Village ever since, dispensing advice whether requested or not.
Lichtenstein's monthly and weekly astrology columns are carried in newspapers across the country. Tonight I want to express my hope that the sniper who is terrorizing the Washington area is stopped, captured and arrested. There has been a great deal of press coverage about his “calling card” – the Death card from the tarot. Actually, the Death card does not mean death. It means a rebirth, rejuvenation, a Phoenix rising from the ashes of the past. The Death card in combination with other cards can mean a death, but alone it means transition and positive growth change. Two tarot cards that have a more negative meaning in a reading are The Devil card (problems you can see) and The Moon (problems you cannot see).
As we get more information about this sniper, I will cast their chart and let you know what I see.

No question this time, Ms. Lichtenstein. You asked that I let you know if you were "off base or not; if rings true". You were right on target. My question, on 10/7/02, was about dating a Scorpio man who one minute calls off our relationship and the next turns it back on. He flip flops often. He was married four times, etc. I hope this jogs your memory as to which one. I am impressed. Thanks, again.

Charlene Lichtenstein: Could be! It really depends where Venus sits in your own birth chart and what aspects (angles) the transiting retrograde makes with other planet sin your chart.
Dreaming of what might have been is certainly one manifestation. Add to that going overboard, falling for the wrong person, ending something that should continue. The possible scenerios are along these lines.

I was born on Oct. 2, 1951. I have only contempt for astrology. I believe there is absolutely no significance to the position of the planets vis a vis our lives. My question is, is this a good month for me to make a significant financial investment?
Charlene Lichtenstein: If you only have contempt for astrology, why ask me to advise you about your hard earned money??
But I am a good sport so this is what I see. You have to promise though that if this rings true, you have to reply back to me so I can post your response for all to see.

Last week you asked that I resubmit for this week so you could look at my relocations chart. Here is my question. Thank you.
I am a Pisces born March 1, 1979 at 4:04 a.m. in Raleigh, N.C. I recently relocated to the U.S. from London, where I had been living abroad. I am studying law, and though I find the topic fascinating, I am not thrilled with my surroundings -- I feel I don't fit in. Is there anything in my chart that indicates I am going through a rough spot? Also, any hope for me leaving the ranks of singlehood any time soon?
Charlene Lichtenstein: What strikes me about both your birth chart and your London chart (and therefore your Washington DC chart) is that you have Capricorn rising. Capricorn on the cusp of the first hosue means “difficult beginnings”. This can mean a tough childhood, difficulty in meeting new people, difficulty in launching new projects etc. I see it to mean that you need a while to acclimate yourself to new surroundings. I do think that this is what is in play right now for you.
Other differences in your two charts – in London, you might have had a range of mellow, serendipitous events that you might hove found more mystical and karmic. Almost soulful. That is Neptune in your 12th house. In Raleigh and DC, Neptune is in your 11th house – moody or unusual friends. Not bad either!
Love? Both charts have Cancer on the cusp of your 7th house of relationships indicating that you put your heart into them and love deeply. You are also very sensitive and caring. Don’t cast your pearls before swine, if you know what I mean….Find someone who is deserving of your affections. Luckily, lucky Jupiter is currently forming a transit to your Vertex powerpoint in your 7th house. It forms it sooner in London but will reach it in DC too around July 03 or so.

Charlene Lichtenstein: Well first thing I did is check to see that the shadow of the Mercury retrograde will be over by the 17th. It still has a couple of days to go so I suggest that you reconfirm the appointment the day before and leave plenty of time to get there. ALso, remember to pack your resume and any other important papers.
Even more important, I checked for any void of course moon and you are in luck! The moon is not voc! Full steam ahead!
Future economics?
You have sun in aquarius and probably aquarius rising which places Scorpio on the cusp of your 10th house of career and pisces on your 2nd house of finances.
The sun will be moving into your career hosue on Oct 24 bringing optimism and opportunity! But venus is also retrograde over that sector so try not to overreact.
Pluto in sag is squaring your financial house so I bet you will see some ups and downs financially - great transformations. But it is change where change is needed. You will emerge stronger and more in control - if you learn from experience.

Charlene Lichtenstein: Hmm. You have sun in Libra - charming, charismatic and sociable. Venus, the planet of love, in passionate and intense Scorpio. Possibly Capricorn rising which places cancer on the cusp of your 7th house of relationships.
Hardly a train wreck. More of a hopeless romantic with high standards. You are basically so friendly and carefree that it gives others the impression that you take all things in life in stride and perhaps lightly. Oh but in love you are so intense and so passionate and can get so hurt because you almost wear your heart on your sleeve. You give too much of yourself sometimes.
Jupiter, the planet of luck is currently in leo and in your 8th house of intimacy. I see that as a nice opportunity for you if you can be a bit more discerning and seek someone who is more of a trusted friend first and a lover after that. Your venus sits in your 11th house of friends and large social groups - look there for your love.

You have sun in cancer and venus (the planet of love) in flirty gemini. Possibly virgo/ libra rising which would place pisces/aries on the cusp of your 7th house of relationships.
You are generally a sensitive and caring person. When you are in love you actually may act a bit differently - more friendly, flirty and platonic. Maybe even a bit fickle?? Quite a change from your loyal Cancer sun sign!

I have been working full time since I graduated from college in May 2001. However, recently I am having thoughts of doing something on my own. Either starting a business or restaurant, applying to med school, or becoming a film writer!
I am in a dilema about what to do next. Any help you can provide would be great!
Charlene Lichtenstein: You have your sun in sag, mercury in sag, venus in capricorn, mars in virgo and possibly sag/cap rising.
Basically you are adventurous, expansive and eager to travel and see the world. You express yourslef in an open and honest manner. When you take action itis carefully thought out and precise. You check all the details before proceeding. In love you are downright conservative! You may have a fear of expressing your love but as you get older, it will become easier and easier for you to give your heart away.
I would have to run your chart on the computer to get a precise 10th house placement but I would say that if it is Libra, you would gravitate to something in the arts, creative and sociable. If it is virgo, I could see you in med school - helping others - an attribute of virgo.
Do you have a more exact birthtime? Before or after 7a? of 7a on the nose?

Charlene Lichtenstein: Thanks! Let's see, you have sun in pisces, mercury in pisces, venus in aquarius and mars in pisces.
You are very intuitive and creative. Somewhat spiritual as well. In love, you gravitate to unusual people and can be a bit independent.
Two things strike me about your chart right away - first, you are in your second Saturn return. The saturn return occurs every 28 years or so. Think about what you went through from ages 27-30 - what challenges you faced and overcame. The second return is another chapter in that event. If you have learned your lessons the first time, you reap rewards now. If there is some unfinished business, you will have to tackle it now. The other thing is see is that you have a lot of pisces in your chart. Pisces is being squared by transiting pluto in sag. Pluto is the planet of transformation and volcanic change. Expect to experience a great deal of change now. Pluto helps us get rid of the debris - stuff that we wouldnot toss out on our own. It is cathartic but may feel uncomfortable.
Pisces is on the cusp of your 10th house of career so these changes are occuring there. It will be a time of change for a while but when it is all over, you will be in a much better, more satisfying place.

You have sun in virgo, moon (emotions) in scorpio and venus (planet of love) in leo. You are generally very conservative and helpful but emotionally you are a bubbling cauldron - very intense. When you are in love, you are generous and grand and love to be adored! You need to find someone who makes you feel like a queen!
Possibly gemini rising which places sag on the cusp of your 7th hosue of relationships. In many ways, you need someone who is a friend as much as a lover. Perhaps someone from a foreign country too? Or someone who loves adventure and travel.
He has sun and venus in leo, moon in aquarius. He too, likes to feel adored and "like a king" in love. Can two people who crave to be adored make it in a partnership. Hey why not? You two have a great connection in your love planet - venus.
But he can also be a bit distant with his emotions - he may be thinking about ideas while your scoprio moon lusts for lust.
I would say that you need to understand each other more fully. You two can be very open with each other with that air and fire in your charts. At a certain point though, I would wonder whether your innate Virgo sun would feel that he needs an inordinate amount of attention. But of course, in knowing this from the start, you can recognize what is going on when you begin to feel this way.

Charlene Lichtenstein: You are a perfect candidate for a solar return reading! A solar return is your birthday chart that maps the heavens at the time, month and day of your birth but for the current year and in the place that you want to be on your birthday. In this way you can shift your chart by where you are on the day that the sun returns to the original position in your chart. If you are considering travelling for your birthday, we can have a look at your solar chart if you like. Please let me know.
In the meantime - You have sun in libra, mercury in scorpio, venus in libra nd mars in virgo. Possibly cap rising which places a lot of crazy activity in your 10th house of career. Mars moves there on Oct 16 and retro mercury is already there. Have you been experiencing miscommunication in your career recently? Wait until Mercury goes direct before you implement any plans here or embark on any major communication. That should happen by the end of the month.
Saturn in your 6th house- Feeling rundown, nit picky problems on the job, stress. Saturn is retograde now so this will last a while. Pluto transits your 12th hosue of hidden things - hidden time bombs and changes that surprise you. This is clearing the cobwebs howver and while it may be unpleasant, it is a cleansing that you need to go forward.
So by travelling on your birthday, maybe we can push this career stress someplace else. Let's talk.....

My mother, born 4/27/24, is diagnosed with metastatic cancer, and is starting to go downhill right now. Any idea about when she will "pass over" to the other side? This illness has taken us all by surprise because she has enjoyed a particularly healthy constitution her whole life.

And also sorry to tell you that I never predict death in a chart.
I can tell youthat as a taurus sun sign she possesses remarkable strength and courage. Taureans are strong. If I had her birth time, I could see what is happening on her 6th house of health and her 8th of transition. More in a way of how she is handling it now rather than timing.

So you have sun scorpio, mercury in scorpio, venus in scorpio and mars in leo. You are intense, passionate and, in love, perhaps a bit jealous and possessive. You are an intense thinker and communicator - very strategic. When you take action, it is in a grand, expansive manner.
