Spam Legislation
With John Levine
Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial E-mail

Friday, May 2, 2003; Noon ET

CANCELLED

Are bulk electronic mailings, or spam, a problem? Should Congress create a national do-not-e-mail list or impose strict penalties to curtail the industry or is this a legitimate marketing approach? What affect will the Federal Trade Commission's three-day forum on the topic have?

Robert MacMillan, washingtonpost.com Tech Policy editor, hosts Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial E-mail (CAUCE) board member and author John Levine on Friday, May 2 at noon to discuss spam, the FTC forum and potential legislation to restrain the practice.

Levine has written and co-authored many books including the best-selling 'Internet for Dummies' and is a frequent consultant on the Internet and other computer related topics.
