Lichtenstein's skills run in the family. Her great aunt, Etta Weimar, was the famous Romanian card reader to both kings and queens. A native of New York City, Lichtenstein was educated in Europe where she pursued the study of tarot and astrology. She returned to New York in 1974 and has lived in Greenwich Village ever since, dispensing advice whether requested or not.
Lichtenstein's monthly and weekly astrology columns are carried in newspapers across the country. When not writing or working on her Web site, AccessNewAge.com/zscope, Lichtenstein offers private consultation. She is a member of the National Council of Geocosmic Research and often lectures on both astrology and tarot.

Mercury, the planet of communication has just gone retrograde on April 26. Expect communication to go awry as phone calls are missed, checks “in the mail” never seem to come and your best oratory may be misunderstood. Where will confusion reign? Better see where Mercury sits in your own chart. When can we expect some relief? When the shadow of the retrograde fully passes on or about June 5. That is when Mercury finally reaches the degree it was when the retrograde first began.

Charlene Lichtenstein: I never do health issues specifically - I am not a medical astrologer, but I will be happy to look at his planets and let you know business and any other important energy trends:
He has sun in scorpio, moon in libra, mercury in venus in libra and mars in scorpio. His basic personality is intense and passionate but he manifests it in a very diplomatic and friendly manner. I suspect it is very difficult to tell if he is angry with someone until he takes action! He is strategic and stealthful and always hits his mark. He strives for harmony and beauty in love and always knows the right thing to say or do when his love feelings are strong.
No birthtime means that I do not know what sign is on the cusp of his house of business or health. What I can say is that when saturn moves into cancer in early June, it will begin to make a good aspect to his sun - strength and vitality. Saturn gives challenges but the wisdom to overcome them.
So I would say that June may be a good time for him in general and for the next couple of years.

You have more than just one sign - you have a sun sign and a moon sign and venus etc.
So let's see - you have sun and mars in capricorn, mercury in sag and venus in scorpio. You are generally (sun) conservative and hard working with a strong need to succeed. You may be cautious and a bit pessimistic but take action (mars) in a strategic and political manner so you can accomplish a great deal once you set your mind to it. You express (mercury) yourself honestly, maybe frankly and expansively. In love you are passionate and perhaps a bit jealous and very sexy (venus). Possibly leo rising - you appear to others to be theatrical, outgoing, generous.

For the past two years, I have been extremely unlucky in love: I am still hung up on an old boyfriend from long ago, and, while meeting men, have not found anyone lasting. My job is taking an unexpected turn, which might be positive or negative, depending on how it goes. I am also working slowly on getting out of debt and trying to make it on my own. I haven't really had anything exciting happen to me for a while. What do you see for me? Anything would be greatly appreciated!
Charlene Lichtenstein: Let's see - you have sun in libra, moon in gemini, mercury in libra, venus in leo and mars in virgo. Youare genreally sociable and friendly and can express your emotions easily but not is any great depth. You love to be loved and love to be the center of your lovers attention. You can be very methodical when you take action and are very detailed oriented.
Possibly taurus rising which places scorpio on the cusp of your 7th house of relationships. You crave a deep intense relationship -passionate and sexual. Think about who you are choosing and how you behave in relationships - venus in leo is more receiving and needing than giving. You love to be adored but need to develop more obvious ways of showing your emotions and displaying your love to partners. You need to seek someone who is sensuous and who can give you the attention you deserve.

Submitted twice before and enjoyed your answers. Am intrigued by references you've made to relocating on one's birthday as a way of influencing future opportunities. Since I've got a birthday coming up (May 25, 1955 - 7:15 p.m. in Pontiac, Mich. with Scorpio ascendant) I was wondering if you would have time to provide any travel suggestions for this year. Am finishing up a graduate program so the future is wide open, but need a satisfying job to pay off those loans and would like to find a compatible partner to share life with. Eager to hear how this works and hope this gives you enough time. Thanks so much!

I would need to run a few charts for you on the computer after the show and get back to you next week with some suggestions. But you can help me too - is work and money more important than love? Is there any one area that is more important than the rest? That would give me a bit of guidance on what location to suggest.

I was born June 8, 1957 in Ottawa Canada at 8:10 a.m. I'm looking at beginning a new career this fall -- my first foray into owning my own business. Is it part of my Gemini personality that I'm forever searching for the "next great thing" and can't ever settle into a career path? My jobs are always about people, I've been a nurse, a professor, now beginning a career as a life coach.
Charlene Lichtenstein: Well, you have sun in gemini, moon in libra, mercury in taurus, venus in cancer and mars in cancer. Possibly cancer rising. You are generally very friendly and intelligent. You are a careful and consistent communicator and take action with your heart not your head. You can be an emotional fighter. In love you care deeply and can be very sensitive.
With cancer rising you have ambitious aries at the top of your chart. You would do best to pursue a career where you can work independently and aggressively. WHere you can forge new territory and take command. With all that cancer i nyour chart a caring profession like nursing sounds good, but unless you can feel that you are making your own decisions and can take charge at least on occasion, it will not prove satisying in the long term.
A life coach seems to give you the best of both worlds - helping others and making your own way and your own decisions. Whatever you choose be sure it gives you opportunties for independence.

You have sun in taurus, mercury and venus in aries and mars in aquarius. You are generally very steady and rock solid, very loyal. You express yourself in a very open and forceful manner and when you are in love, you don't hold back! You are honest and forthright. You are a very unorthodox fighter and debater and can find unique angles to get your point across.
Possibly scorpio rising (at least in the DC area...) so that places lucky Jupiter at the top of your chart in your career sector. I suspect that the next few months will see professional expansion and opportunity for you.
Uranus in your 5th indicates creative bursts of inspiration so do not let them go to waste! Retro pluto in your 2nd house indicates dramatic shifts in finances through the next few years - some rather uncomfortable and ever changing but you will get used to that!

I know you are in a transitional phase! You are in your first Saturn Return which is a three year period every 27/28 years or so where we might feel frustrated, stressed and unfulfilled. Ah...the craziness continues. I was born 6/3/76 at 3:15 p.m. in Washington, D.C. Charlene Lichtenstein: Since you are born in DC I can use your birth chart as the relocation chart. So let's see - you have sun in gemini, mercury in taurus, venus in gemini and mars in leo. You are friendly, sociable and charming with a good solid way of communicating. You can be a bit flirtatious in love and take action in a grand and theatrical manner. Possibly taurus rising.
Excitement? I would say your home life will be expansive and lucky in DC. SUrprises will come in friendships (uranus in your 11th house) and in intimacy (retor Pluto transiting your 8th). Upheavals and changes where change is needed.
Do not be naive in your career especially after mid-may - neptune is retrograding in your 10th house and you may not see things clearly at that time. Get thing sin writing and be sure that you understand ramifications here.

Charlene Lichtenstein: Good question - I use void of course moons all the time to improve my timing and effectiveness. I also note eclipses and avoid important issues at that time, if I can. Mercury retrograde periods - I try to be more patient of communication snafus. And when Jupiter hits my money house, I buy stock!
Of course there is much more but if one even just uses moon charts, I believe that they will be able to accomplish so much more than not using them.

Charlene Lichtenstein: You are finishing or have just finished your Saturn return. WHat have you really grappled with these past 3 years? That is what you should finish up and reap rewards with now.
You have sun in aquarius, mercury in aquarius, venus in aquarius and mars in sag. You are aquairus personified! Unorthodox, intelligent, fighting for causes and open and independent. A bit of an iconoclast....
Possibly taurus rising which places all this aquarian energy in your 10th house of career. I bet career is very important to you.
In May, you will have great energy to get things done professionally. Go forward but with some caution - foggy neptune is going retrograde in your 10th house too so you may go off on tangents or may act a bit naively there. You will have great charisma as the sun transits your 1st house until 5/22 = make the most of it.

Can you tell from your charts when someone is to meet his or her future mate? I've been in a dry spell lately and would like some heads up on my love life in the coming year.
Also, what happens with day-light savings time and birth times? What time would you use?
Charlene Lichtenstein: I run my charts on the computer so it automatically calculates for that city what the local time was at the time and date of birth.
As far as when someone will meet their mate, I can tell what times are best for looking and what type of person are best suited for you. Astrology is not fate - it does not delivery the goods to our door without some effort on our part. Astrology is timing and guidance - we have to make our happiness a reality.
You have sun in gemini and venus in taurus. Possibly taurus rising whihc places scorpio on the cusp of your 7th hosue of relationships. You are generally very friendly and charming and in love you are very loyal and earthy. You seek someone passionate and intense and, with virgo on the cusp of your 5th house of romance you can be picky and discerning.
As venus moves into your 1st house, use May and June to seek new people and gain new introductions. Love is in the air and you will appear to b e especially attractive to acquaintances!

The second return is a culmination of the first one. Whatever you grappled with at ages 27-30 will again come into the fore. If you learned your Saturn lesson, it is a time a reaping your rewards. If there are still a few loose ends, prepare to tighten them!
