Starbite of the week:
According to Woman Trends Magazine, Ultra Baths has created a home-spa bathtub that uses chromatherapy. Chromatherapy is the use of colored lights that soothe various ailments. When you push a button, underwater lights begin to emit diodes that charge the tub water with one of six colors. Violet seems to stimulate your immune system while red may take care of rheumatism. Some people say that Pluto is not really a planet. Does that mean that astrologers should stop considering the effect of Pluto on a person's chart?
Charlene Lichtenstein: Thank you for such a thought provoking question!
I say that since astrology uses more than planets for the analysis on a routine basis, it relaly doesn't matter if pluto is a planet or not.
We use the "lights" - sun and moon
vertexes
"parts" of fortune, or of marriage
asteroids
phases of the moon
moon nodes
etc
so if it works, why not use it?
Seattle, Wash.:
Hello Madame Lichtenstein!
I submitted this question last week and you asked me to resubmit this week so that you could do a relocation chart for me. Thank you so much for your help!
Original question:
I want to move from Seattle, Wash. to North Carolina, preferably Greensboro, but I have been looking in most of the major central cities (Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Durham). I have been job hunting for about two months, but things are going REALLY slowly (partly my own fault). It looks like the most opportunity is in Charlotte, which is probably the place I least want to go. Can you tell me anything about the timing of my move, what the possibilities look like, and what the prognosis would be for Charlotte vs. Greensboro?
Born 12/05/62 at 5:45 a.m.
Thanks!
Charlene Lichtenstein: I ran your relocation chart for Charlotte and for Greensboro. They are very similar with only a degree or two difference between them.
SO this covers both -
In both cities you have the planets uranus and pluto on the very top of the chart which leads me to believe that your career will have its surprises and upheavels there. This may not be a bad thing but I think it will be surprising and possibly unsettling until you get your bearings.
The sun is in your first house of new beginnings so you are very optimisitc and will find yourself on a good and hopeful path. You talk well to the right people (mercury int he fist conjunct the sun) and can meet great new people.
Jupiter in your 4th hosue shows luck in your home life there and home is where your hear tis (the moon in the 4th). But Jupiter is opposing the midheaven and uranus so surprises in your career can cause some reappraisals and compromises at home. Home will be nicer than your career, in my opinion.
Saturn, the planet of problems is in the 3rd hosue - you will learn a great deal there and will work hard. And youc an succeed after great effort.
I hope that helps. Give me a more exact city once you have really narrowed it down and we can look at timing.
Bethesda, Md.:
3/13/47, born at 12:17 p.m. in Brooklyn, N.Y. My question is that I am attracted to a Taurus born 5/4/51 in North Carolina and I have read that this sign is a good match. Can you tell me anymore? I don't know his birth time.
Charlene Lichtenstein: I can tell you a bit more...
You have sun in pisces, moon (how you express your emotions) in sagittarius, venus (how you express love) in aquarius and possibly gemini rising which places sag on your 7th house of marriage.
He has sun in taurus, venus in gemini and moon in aries.
I would say that this is a fine match - your sun signs are well aspected as are your moons and venuses. Even though you are both seriosu sun signs about love, you both have a tendenecy to express your love and emotions in a breezier manner. You both understand each other and feel connected.
I hope that helps!
Washington, D.C.:
Hi Charlene.
Just when I thought I was getting my life back in gear, there I go again with another setback. It seems like every time I get one area of my life in order, another aspect takes a step back.
Will I ever be financially stable, or will I always be digging out of a hole? And, where does my lovelife ever come into play? I really respect your work and talents.
Born: 7/22/69; approximately 7 a.m.; Philadelphia, Pa.
THANKS!
Charlene Lichtenstein: Thanks. Well lets see -
you have sun in cancer, moon in libra, mercury in cancer, venus in gemini and mars in sagittarius. Possibly cancer/leo rising.
You are generally a carig and sensitive person. You think and communicate emotionally but when you are in love or in any emotional situation, you are actually less emotional and more in control. You are a flirt and love a meeting of the minds in a relationship. When you fight, you are a fiar and above board person and seek to find a way to make things work out.
You know, jupiter is in leo so that means to me that you may have more lucky breaks in finances as the year goes on. But you can also win big/lose big becasue Jupiter is expansion and big swings so be careful once you get the money not to overspend it!
September has Mars in your second house of money so put out the effort while you have the oomph!
In love I see pluto in your 5th house of romance for a while so you will go through changes and transformations about who is best for you. Uranus and neptune in your 7th house of marriage indicates unrealistic expectations and surprises in who you choose for a partner. So overall, in love, things are changing and so are you. By next year you may be surprised how your tastes have improved.
Thank you from Seattle:
Thanks so much for the great information. When I know more I will indeed submit a new question to ask about specifics and timing.
Thanks again!
Charlene Lichtenstein: Youare welocme! Let me know what you decide.
Vienna, Va.:
What is in store for me in my lovelife -- long distance friendship with a Leo(7/27/62) who has not even mentioned love or romance? I can feel both of us are holding back but are so fond of each other. I'm thinking of putting an end to this and just letting him go so I could channel my energies into looking for someone worth my while. Is this a good move? How about my career? A number of people were laid off but I'm so far surviving. I'm a Libra born 10/21/63 at 9:45 a.m. in Cebu City, Philippines.
Charlene Lichtenstein: You have sun in libra, moon in sag, mercury in libra, venus in scorpio, mars in scorpio. Overall you are charming and diplomatic with an expansive mind and an artistic outlook. With venus in scoprio, you are passionate and intense in love and a bit possessive.... You are a careful and strategic fighter ad can persevere against all odds.
He has sun in leo, moon in gemini and venus in virgo. He is generous and expansive - a good match to your sun. His venus in virgo is steadfast and earthy so that is a good match to yoru venus and moon. He may be a little emotionally cool for you in general - moon in gemini is more friendly than passionate, but if you know and understand that about him, it is not a big deal.
Long distance relationships are not your choice and I would say that you will be happier with someone who you can connect to physically on an ongoing basis. If he is not the one, I suggest you hedge yoru bets and continue looking.
Now is an excellent time to put effort in your career pursuits - mars is in your 10th house of career. Are you setting a course of action so you are not left in the lurch?
D.C.:
Can you give any chart advice to people whose parents simply don't remember the exact time of birth. The closest my mother can get is "after lunch in a speedy birth." Thanks.
Charlene Lichtenstein: Charts can be calibrated for those who do not know their time of birth but it is more of an art than a science. We would run your chart for 12 noon or midnight, work within specific life experiences and modify the time until the life experiences fit the chart.
Better than nothing.

Currently, waiting for a decision from a past relationship. Hope to reconcile with son's father. Do you see any chances?
Charlene Lichtenstein: Would like the birth info for your son's father but even without it, let's check your chart -
you have sun in libra, moon in cancer and venus in virgo.
You are a charming and diplomatic person, ready to compromise rather than make waves. People may take advantage of your good nature so be aware of that.
You are a deeply emotional person, very loving and love children. You are also loyal in love.
You possibly have libra rising which places aquarius on the cusp of your 5th house of children. Uranus and Neptune are currently sitting in that house which indicates to me that you need to look more clearly and logically at the situation. Take the clouds from your eyes so to speak.
The sun will be moving into your first house in mid-September so I see refreshing new beginnings at that time. ALso, mars in your 12th house gives you energy and hidden strength.
Can you send me the fathers info- I want to see what he is going through.
Washington, D.C.:
I was born on Sept. 3, 1976 in Massachusetts around 2:00 a.m. My fianc้ was born on Jan. 7, 1970 in Washington, D.C. around 10:00 p.m. All of the stuff I read about Virgo (me) and Capricorn (him) relationships says that we are fated to fail. What is your take on it? Will we defy the stars?
Charlene Lichtenstein: Fated to fail? Don't believe everything you read!
Astrology is not fate - it is a guidemap so we can overcome hidden bumps in the road.
So you have sun in virgo, moon in cap and venus in libra. Possibly cancer rising.
He has sun, moon and venus in capricorn. Very capricorn!!
As you can see, your sun and moon are very well matched to your triple cap. You understand his pessimism and worries and can give him some practical perspective on what ails him. You also provide a lift of spirits for him and make yourlove life beautiful and romantic - something he has toruble with. Caps are earth signs so they have the potential of being loving, earthy sensuous etc - bring that out in him!

I will really appreciate your reply.
Charlene Lichtenstein: Thanks for your question - I need your birth information.
Forestville, Md.:
My date of birth is 7/06/77, the time is about 12:05 a.m. and place of my birth was Washington Hospital center. Basically I'm writing you because I need to know everything romance, money, career and when will I leave my parents house. Please help. Lost in Forestville.
How can I make my day-to-day life better?
Charlene Lichtenstein: You have sun in cancer, moon in pisces, mercury in cancer, venus in taurus and mars in taurus. You are a very sensitive person who is very romantic and loyal. You are slow to take action but once you do, there is no stopping you!
You possibly have aries rising which means tha Spetmebre can bring new directions at work as mars sits in your 6th house, new opportuntiies in a relationshipa fter the 24th as the sun moves into libra and luck in romance as Jupiter sits in yoru 5th hosue of fun and flirtation.
Astrology is about timing. If you want to improve your life, look at the transits of the planets and go with their strength. Read more about timing by the moon at my website www.TheStarryEye.com with eclipses and void of course moons.
VIenna, Va.:
This week's full moon, is supposed to be an unstable one financially. Can you give me some ideas as to what to look out for?
12:01 a.m.
June 27, 1976
Alexandria, Va.
Charlene Lichtenstein: Unstable financially? Let me check your chart -
You have sun in cancer, mercury in gemini and venus in cancer, mars in leo. Possibly aries rising.
You are generally sensitive and caring with a sharp, clever mind and good wit. You love deeply and when you take action it is in a grand and dramatic manner.
The new moon is in 29 degrees of aquarius which should be passing over your 10th (career) or 11th (friends) houses. But none of your natal planets is close to 29 degrees so I don't see a great impact on your chart.
Hope that helps.
Washington, D.C. -- It's my b-day today!:
Hi Charlene,
It's my birthday today!
I was born in 1971, at 5:35 p.m., at 38n43, 9w08.
I've recently gotten fairly serious with a man (born July 30, 1973, at 10:40 a.m., at 48n08, 11e34). Can you tell me whether you think things will continue to go well? Do you see a potential for serious commitment ahead?
Work isn't going so well... what do you see in the career area?
Thanks!
I hope you can answer this question today!
Charlene Lichtenstein: Happy Birthday!
You have sun, moon and venus in leo. You are dramtic, theatrical, generous, expansive and looooove to be the center of attention and adoration. Do I have that right??
Possibly aquarius rising which places leo on your 7th house of relationships. They are very important to you!
Your man has sun and moon in leo and venus in virgo. He likes the limelight as much as you. There may be a bit of competition between the two of you as to who gets all the attention. In love his is a bit quieter and loyal. A bit earthier too.
There is spark between the two of you. You two will both have to be extra careful that it doesn't burn down the house! You are in luck - Jupiter the planet of luck and expansion sits in leo for the next couple of years. Make the most of its energy.
There may be some good news in your career as venus moves into your 10th house of career on Sept 9th.
Lexington, Mass.:
Dear Madam Lichentstein:
What a wonderful weekly treat your discussions are. I am wondering if you might share your insight about a terrific relationship I began last spring, a friendship that eventually turned romantic. This is the first relationship I've had that has real potential for long-term permanence. The problem: As of early August, he returned to his native Israel and I remain in the U.S., and while there is little chance we'll be living in the same city in the immediate future, neither of us wants to give up this relationship. What can you tell us about our prospects for making the relationship work in the long term? I was born Oct. 20, 1966, 9:46 a.m. in Washington, D.C. and he was born July 30, 1969 at Noon in Haifa, Israel. We both have Scorpio ascendants. Many thanks for your wisdom!
Charlene Lichtenstein: Thank you so much!
You have sun in libra, moon in capricorn and venus in libra. You can be in love with love and can add great spark to your relationships. You love harmony, beauty and diplomacy. In love, you seek physically attractive partners.
He has sun in leo, moon in aquarius and venus in gemini. There is great deal of connection with your chart here - his sun and moon are in sync with your sun and venus - your personalities understand each other and there is an understanding of what you need in a relationship.
Emotionally you can be a bit pessimistic but it is nothing to worry about. His moon in unorthodox aquarius can be a bit aloof sometimes so understand his need to emtionally pull back and reflect on a situation. He is a flirt so keep his mind active!
PS Lucky Jupiter is in your houses of friendships so how lucky is it to find a friend for a lover??
Washington, D.C.:
What does my romantic future hold?
April 21, 1975
Salem, Mass.
12 noon to 12:30
Charlene Lichtenstein: You have sun in steadfast Taurus and venus, the planet of love, in flirtatious Gemini. Possibly leo rising.
September has Jupiter the planet of luck hovering in your 1st house of new beginnings. A good time to seek new people in your life!
Pluto, planet of transformations in your romance sector - expect volcanic changes in areas where you have fun or meet romantic prospects. Your outlook can change here. As Neptune and Uransu sit in your 7th house, you may be idealizing partnerships. You need to think more practically. Expect some surprises in partnerships too as Uranus loves to keep you on your toes for the next few months.
Hope that helps.
Washington, D.C. -- follow up from "B-day today" person:
Just wanted to thank you for your reply.
Quick note -- always thought my ascendant was capricorn, not aquarius. Does that change anything you said?
Thanks again!
Charlene Lichtenstein: I am working off quick charts for the purposes of this show so I may be a few degrees off. Let me run your chart on the pc which is very accurate and I can get back to you next week on that.
Falls Church, Va.:
Hi ... I've just been through a pretty horrible period from a personal standpoint, that seemed to come from out of nowhere. Can you tell me if things will be getting any better? I was born on August 12, 1957 at 5:13 a.m. (Eastern Daylight Time), in Alexandria, Va. Thank you!
Charlene Lichtenstein: Oh dear.
Let's check your planets -
you have sun in leo, moon in pisces, mercury in virgo, venus in virgo and mars in virgo. Possibly leo rising.
You have several planets in virgo and moon in pisces which are mutable signs. All mutable signs (virgo, sag, gemini and pisces) are being aspected by transiting pluto in sagittarius.
Pluto is the planet of volcanic change, unleashed power and transformation. I think you are feeling the effects of transiting pluto. Pluto usually provides change where change is needed. Change that we really need to do for oursleves but can't seem to be able to do on our own. It is upsetting and destabilizing but needed in the long run.
I htink these virgo planet sare in your house of personal values and money - are these the areas that are getting the most stress? Expect a few years of change before things settle down. But you will be in a much much better place!
Money money money :
As I approach my birthday (Sept. 3) I am wondering if I will come into some money this year. I wonder will I get a higher paying job? Will some sort of good financial luck befall me this year? Or will next year be the same as the last one, will I still have a sad little bank account and almost no extra cash for traveling and fun.
Charlene Lichtenstein: Birth date, birth time and birth place please!
Charlene Lichtenstein: We have run out of time and there are still many great questions left. Thank you all for your patience. For those who I couldn't get to, please try again next week - Monday August 26 at 6p.
Until then, happy stargazing!
