Retrograde Mercury, which has been fouling up our communication, redirected on February 8th. But we have to wait until the shadow of the retrograde passes on March 1 before those missed messages, brash unintended statements and confusing thoughts are finally cleared up. You may think that you are communicating clearly, but your message might go awry. For those of you who might have given a few of these “mixed messages” in the past few weeks, prepare to correct and revise. Where does this retro Mercury aspect in your own birth chart?

Well, you have sun (your general personality) in Capricorn, moon (how you express your emotions) in libra and venus (how you express your love) in pisces. He has sun and venus in scorpio and moon in gemni.
Capricorns take things very seriously so despite your airy and flirtatious moon in libra (which meshes nicely with his equally flirtatious moon in Gemini) you gravitate to serious relationships and you don’t tend to fool around with your feelings. That is good because with all that scoprio in his love area, he is fairly serious about love himself. So your sun and venus mesh well with his sun and venus. An auspicious combination! And your very romantic pisces venus helps keep the passion and romance on course which is what scorpios like!

I have been reading your columns from past 2 years and follow them quite regularly. I won't be online tomorrow as I've meetings around that time so I am posting my question now.
I had posted a question on Dec 19, 2000 and I am trying to follow up on it. My dob is 11-JUN-1972, 7:05 a.m. in Hyderabad, India. You had said earlier in your answer that I am going thru my saturn retrograde. I was wondering how along its gonna last. From past year or so I've been dating on and off and so far I don't seem to find the one I am looking for. Lot of my dates have ended up after one or two dates. Do you see anything significant happening in next few months. I am now getting a feeling that I may never find the girl I am looking for.

Charlene Lichtenstein: You are going through a Saturn Return which is a three year period where Saturn in the sky is returning to where it was natally placed in your chart when you were born. It is a time of learning, life lessons and general stress. We want things NOW but they either take too long or are not what we really want after all (that is, if we get a chance to get them at all!).
Your natal Saturn is 11 degrees of Gemini and Saturn is currently 8 degrees of Gemini so you have a few months. You have venus in cancer so you can be very sensitive in love and possibly cancer rising which places capricron on the cusp of your 7th house of relationships. That often indicates love later in life (after age 30) or with someone older or more established than you.
I would say that you should continue to look and experience a variety of relationships with a range of women but don’t expect anything serious until after your return is fully over. Even then, you will take your time deciding – Capricorn on the 7th house is very picky. And why not??

Well let’s see – you have sun in libra and venus in virgo. Possibly Sagittarius rising which places Gemini on the cusp of your 7th house of relationships. He has sun in cancer, moon in scorpio and venus in Taurus.
I see that you would tend to have a much breezier view of love and relationships than he does. Your sun in libra makes you sociable, charming and friendly and your venus in virgo is a bit no nonsense and practical. His cancerian sun is very sensitive and possibly moody. His moon in scorpio is intense, passionate, a bit secretive and close to the vest. His venus in Taurus is earthy and very well matched to your venus. The sex is good – or so it appears astrologically! Differences may occur with your airy overall personality and your natural sociability. He is more of a loner (or so it seems) or very protective of his emotions and expressing his love. The libra mercury (how you communicate) and mars (how you act, fight and take action) are very fluid and airy placements indicating a changeable person or one who creates change around them. Libra energy strives for balance and diplomacy even if they have to blow up the landscape to do so! (Dwight D Eisenhower was a libra…) You possibly have cancer rising which places robust and dynamic Aries at the top of your chart – you are a volcano - energy personified! That is your public face. Good evening Mme Lichtenstein, I have had my chart run and am baffled by its lopsidedness to the West side (houses 4,5,6,7 thru 11). Does it mean anything to be that heavy to one side of a chart? And what is with all the Squares?

Charlene Lichtenstein: When planets are clustered in one area of a chart, it means that that area is more important to you and consumes more of your time and attention. I would like to run your chart on my computer to get a better picutre but in the time of this show, a collection of planets in the 4-7 sectors (actually 4-6 is one area and 7-9 is another) indicates intensity in the collaborative and intimate areas of your life. You are a person who needs people.
Square aspects are challenges but they make us stronger and more in control (how is that for a silver lining!)
You have sun and venus in cancer, possibly Libra rising (from my quick charts). He has sun in taurus and venus in gemini, possibly pisces rising.
Your 7th house cusp placements are very compatible for each other. He has virgo which works well with your cancer planets. You have Aries which compliments his venus in gemini. He can be flirty and needs some mind games in love. You are quite serious and very sensitive. You need romance, he needs love notes and mind games to keep the spark going.
And with that sun in Taurus, throw in a good meal and a bottle of wine.

Charlene Lichtenstein: You have sun (personality) in pisces, moon (emotions) in aries, mercury (communication) in aquarius, venus (love) in aries and mars (action) in aquarius. If I had your time of birth, I could see what is on the cusp of your 7th hosueof relationships and 5th house of romance.
Generally, you are not a typical pisces (sensitive, possibly moody and spiritual). With all that robust aries and aquarius energy, you are firm in your thoughts and convictions, a good debater and clear thinker. You see who you want in love and go after them. You take no prisoners!
You would do well with someone who lets you call the shots in love and is sort of compliant. Possible an air or water sign - or someone with venus in an air or water sign.
Currently your sun is being squared by transiting pluto which means you should expect changes and movements of a very basic nature. You are undergoing a transformation and this will take a couple of years. Sooner however - Venus moves into aries on March 9 for a few weeks indicating a good time for you to explore possiblities. Charlene Lichtenstein: You have sun in aries, moon in libra and venus in aries. Possibly libra rising which places aries on the cusp of your 7th house of relationships and cancer on the cusp of your 10th hosue of career.
The career will clear up when Jupiter, which is currently retrogradng and creating unpleasant changes, redirects and brings a bit of lucky and expansion. That happens in March. Hang on and hold out.
The romance area is importnat to you and you like to call the moves. Aries is a general on the battle field of love and you even have venus in your 7th house which increases the need. Things start happening in March when venus enters aries on March 9 and the sun enters aries on the 21st. That means you have to get out there and meet - they will not knock on your door. Make yourself available.

Hello Madame Lichtenstein. Like so many people in the area I am currently underemployed working at a job that pays me half of what I used to make. I'm wondering if you might see any time frame that will offer renewed financial stability.
I was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala at 1:30 p.m.on 6/27/57.
Charlene Lichtenstein: You have sun in cancer, mercury in gemini, venus in cancer and mars in leo. Possibly scorpio rising which places leo on your 10th house of career and sagittarius on the 2nd house of finances.
You are a clever communicator (mercury in gemini) and can be very charming and persuasive. You have interests in many area and may have trouble concentrating on one specialty - that is because you have an active mind. You can be theatrical and love attention. You would do well in a career where your achievements are recognized and applauded and rewarded.
Since volcanic Pluto is currently transiting your houseof finances, I would think that there may continue to be ups and downs financially for the next few years, Pluto brings huges rewards... as well as the oppositie. Balance will be difficult. But it will also be a great time to learn about what you need and don't need in money management.

Charlene Lichtenstein: Yes they do - the 1-3 sector represents "solitary" development - that which we can do alone. 4-6 is collaborative (family, play and work). 7-9 is intimate relationships and 10-12 is spiritual and public matters.
So how does your chart look?

Hello Mme. Lichtenstein -- I've written to you before and you have been very helpful and compassionate with your advice, which I really appreciate. I also enjoy your Web site. Previously, I have asked you about a relationship that I was involved in that had gone south (I think this was sometime in the early fall 2001) and you had advised me that things would shape up in December. Well, things were improving, but in December, they disintegrated completely in a matter that was worse than I could imagine. Do you have any more advice regarding this relationship and whether or not it is completely over? I know that he is just starting to experience his Saturn return, but his actions have been extremely unpredictable, to put it mildly. Saying one thing and doing another, mixed messages, etc. Are we just not meant to be? I was born in Alexandria, Va. on 12/7/69 at 3:38 p.m. He was born in El Paso, Tex. on 8/26/74 -- time unknown. Charlene Lichtenstein: Oh boy - I would love to see exactly what I said last fall!
Saturn Return are tricky things and they can cause some real upheavels. Did I mention at the time that he was entering into a return? I hope so!
He has sun in virgo, moon in sag and venus in leo.
You have sun in sag, moon in scorpio and venus in sag.
There are several great connections here - your sun and venus with his venus and moon and his sun with your moon.
You have a great independent streak and need to be more aware of his need for loyalty and dependability. Virgos are pathologically (or so it may seem) clean. Sags are free spirits (ahem...) Try to accomodate him there....
I would give him time to adjust through his Saturn Return - it will only prove to be frustrating for you to try to push things now. Stay friendly and dependable. Give him space and time.

Wow! I didn't know you could tell that so accurately from the position of stars. I am just curious, how many months does it take for a planet to turn 1- degree (in this case saturn). Don't try to rush anything through before your Return. This will be a time of exploration and getting to know yourself better. You may find out that you are looking for an entirely different type of person after your return. Don't sweat it - enjoy the adventure!

Charlene Lichtenstein: The sun sign alone does not tell the whole story.
So you are sun in sag and venus (the planet of love) also in sag.
Your partner is a sun sag and venus in aquarius. That would make them a bit more passionate about great causes. It may be hard for them to focus on a one to one when the entire world needs their attention! You may be a bit more robust in bed while your partner loves to talk talk talk.
Does that make sense?
If I had your birth times, I could see what is going on in both of your 7th houses (of relationships).

But as it stands, you can expect a bit of a general push after March 21st as the sun enters aries and creates good energy for your sun sign. Efforts may have surprising results as Pluto retrogrades towards the end of the month. The landscape could change.
An Aries sun sign could be good for you but I would like to know what the other planets are in their chart. Where is venus? (It is the planet of love!) where is the moon - it is how one expresses emotion. You have to look beyond the sun sign!

To follow up the question about sectors, my birthday is 11/8/61, 11:45 a.m., Baltimore, Md. I have Capricorn rising. I have 2 planets in the first house, 2 planets in the 8 house, 2 planets in the ninth house, and 4 planets in the tenth house. What does that tell you? Thank you.
Charlene Lichtenstein: Wherever we have more than three planets, we have a "stellium". Stelliums indicate where we put most of our energy - what drives us. You have a 10th hosue stellium and I would say that career and your public face is extremely important to you. Read up on the 10th house attributes. You may get a few hints on how to make your life more satisfying.
Now here is the kicker question - what four planets are they? I would guess they are the sun, mercury, venus and mars. These are personal planets which make the need greater and more personal. We will not feel totally fulfilled until we have fulfilled our sun - if your sun is in the 10th house, you fulfill it through career success.
