Women and The Pill: New Findings With Rachel Hunter, Actress/Model and Susan Wysocki, Nurse Practitioner Via Audio Wednesday, March 28, 2001; 3:30 p.m. EST
Over half of women of childbearing age (18-45) mistakenly believe that birth control pills cause weight gain and many therefore do not take -- or stop taking -- oral contraceptives. A Yankelovich survey of 1,400 women and female health care providers, commissioned by the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health (NPWH) and Women in Balance, found that 66% of women who stopped using the pill said that they used a less effective method of birth control or even no method at all, leading to possible unintended pregnancy.

These findings and more will be discussed by model, actress, mother and former wife (of singer Rod Stewart) Rachel Hunter and NPWH president and CEO Susan Wysocki, a nurse practitioner. They will be online Wednesday, March 28, at 3:30 p.m. EST.
This program is funded by an education grant from Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories, manufacturers of low-dosage estrogen pills. Rachel Hunter and Susan Wysocki will take your questions and comments about the role of oral contraceptives in achieving reproductive wellness.
washingtonpost.com producer Rocci Fisch will interview Rachel Hunter and Susan Wysocki with questions submitted by our readers. A Real Audio file will be provided after the discussion.
