Lichtenstein's skills run in the family. Her great aunt, Etta Weimar, was the famous Romanian card reader to both kings and queens. A native of New York City, Lichtenstein was educated in Europe where she pursued the study of tarot and astrology. She returned to New York in 1974 and has lived in Greenwich Village ever since, dispensing advice whether requested or not.
Lichtenstein's monthly and weekly astrology columns are carried in newspapers across the country. Purdue University Research released a report indicating that belief in the paranormal is fairly common:
44% of those adults polled believe that certain persons have psychic abilities
42% believe in haunted houses
42% believe that certain people can dream about future events and
41% believe in ESP.
The university study ties such belief to television viewing which means that those of us who view paranormal types of tv programs are more apt to believe in the paranormal. Ah, the power of media!

My name is Michael Wright and I was born in Lewes, Del. on November 12, 1978 at 12:03 p.m.
I had someone do a general analysis of my natal chart once. It appeared as though the sun and the moon were in juxtaposition. In addition, most of my planets were in the house of law (virtually all of them). In a pretty novice summary, the guy said that "life isn't gonna be easy for you" and "are you sure you aren't a murderer."
Well, honestly, life couldn't be better at the moment. I feel like I finally integrated a fairly traumatic childhood event and have truly started to discover myself. I actually had this revelation while I was in the car and almost brought me to tears. I just thought "Michael -- you found yourself -- all that time you spent looking for who you are, what you like, what you don't, it's right here. There is no need to look through others eyes to define you anymore -- you are right here".
Since, I have been doing a lot of things and discovering a variety of interests I have. Making an effort to not do things soley because they will look good to others.
At any rate, my original question was regarding the outlook of my "uncommon" natal chart. If you could provide any insight, I would be grateful.

Charlene Lichtenstein: I am so angry at that astrologer and so happy that it appears like you have not taken that bad astrologer seriously.
Astrology is not fate. It is best used as a guidemap to more clearly see opportunities. It doesn't make you a murderer and some of the most difficult looking charts can lead to the most fulfilled and successful lives. It's what you do with your chart that counts - not the chart itself. So there - I've vented.
With that said, you have sun in scorpio, moon in aries, mercury in sag, venus in scorpio and mars in sag. Possibly Aquarius rising (I use a quick chart for this show and would prefer to run on the computer to be sure). Yes it is possible that the sun and moon are opposite each other. So what? It means that sometimes your emotional responses are at odds with your goals and dreams. Meaning that it may take you longer to realize your dreams because your emotions will take you on detours. Eventually as you mature, you get it in the right balance.
You have mercury and mars in sagittarius indicating a true individualist in both thought and deed. You have many interests and love meeting new people and travelling. It energizes you.
With your Sun in scorpio you also see things in a clear and strategic manner - able to capitalize where the sag energy simply flows along.
Pluto is currently travelling through Sag now (had been in Scorpio for years and years - no wonder you had a stessful time) Expect more transformations and changes (changes for the better- changes that you cannot do for yourself so Pluto does them for you).

I was born in Silver Spring, Md., on April 13, 1977. I come from a spicy family -- I have a Peruvian mother, a Canadian father, two younger brothers, a younger sister and a Canadian dog. I have a few questions regarding my family, whom I love to no end. Our family problems revolve around a very bad relationship with my brother (the middle child) and my parents. I am curious to see if you have anything to say about that or if you have any visions at all regarding my family, good or bad. For example my parents' health, my dog's health, my brothers' and sisters' futures, whatever.
I am also curious to know if you see anything regarding my future in regards to love mainly between my boyfriend and I, my future economically and spiritually and health wise. Just let me know what you see, Thank you.
Charlene Lichtenstein: Well I don't have visions and very few of my dreams ever come true so it is best that I rely on astrology to give me insights.
I cannot therefore speak to your brother's relationship with your parents unless I have his (and their)birth information.
You however, are another matter. Let's see - you have sun (personality) in aries, moon (emotions) in aquarius, mercury (communication) in taurus, venus (love) in aries and mars (action) in pisces. You have a very robust and pioneering personality and love to be in charge. You love people and tend to be open in expressing your affection for partners.
You are a careful communicator and may take action based on an emotional response.
If I had your time of birth, I could possibly read your brother's chart inside your own (a little astrologer trick by rotating the chart.) If you can send it on, I'll tell you what I see.

Hi, Madam,
People and astrology books I have read seem to think Cancerian and Sagittarian as not compatible. Is that true? I admit that in my view he is too optimistic sometimes, and on the contrary,I appear more cautious and sometimes to the extent that he thinks "worry too much." However, we love each other. Could you tell me if we can work out and how we should deal with our relationship and make it better?
Charlene Lichtenstein: Don't believe the general stuff you read in basic astrology books. The best way to check for compatibility is to examine both people's birth charts - all planets especially venus (love), mars (the male energy) and moon (emotions) and the sign on the 7th house of partnerships.
Okay, you have sun and venus and mars in cancer. He has sun and venus and mars in sag. He has Scorpio rising which places taurus on the cusp of his 7th house and all your cancer planets possibly in his 8th house of sex or 9th house of adventure.
All you cancer planets are making good aspects to his marriage house and to his sense of self (ascendent). I would say that this relationship has a great deal of attraction. Give him freedom and space - sags need that. ALso be a friend to him and se supportive of all of his crazy projects. Trust him - he is honest.
He in turn needs to give you the emotional support you need and keep his promises to you.

You have been a great help in the past and I am getting back to you hoping for some new valuable advice.
I am a Virgo with rising sun in Leo (Sept. 1, 1970, 4:25 a.m., Athens, Greece) and I have applied for a new job, which will mean relocation in New York and complete change of profession, which makes me very nervous, as I have always thought that my current profession would be the only one in my life. I have worked really hard for the job I have mow.
At the same time, I have this huge crush on somebody (I have written about it before, but I had his birthdate wrong) who is going through a very bad time in his life. He just lost his job, he is struggling with an ex-girlfriend and he is at least temporarily leaving the U.S. going back to his coutry, England. He was born Feb. 20, 1971, in Oxford -- is he Pisces? Please, Charlene, share your wisdom, as I am going through such a confusing time.

He has sun in pisces, moon in sag, mercury in aquarius, venus in capricorn and mars in sag.
You are conservative by nature and, with steady taurus on the cusp of your career sector, I know that any career choice tha tyou make will be the right one becasue you are very methodical and careful in your career moves. It must be a good job or you wouldn't even consider taking it.
Your boyfriend seems to be going through a stressful phase - blame it on transiting Pluto which is hitting not only his sag planets but also his sun in pisces (square aspect to it). I believe that it is going to take him time to get through this so if this crush turns out to be something more, you may have to be very patient.
One other thought - his venus in cap may make him leery of committing in a love relationship until he is absolutely sure he can trust you. Your venus in libra can be flirtatious so consider the signals that you may be giving off to him.

Charlene Lichtenstein: Absolutely - you are 29 degrees in Leo. Mystery solved!
I believe that you have taurus on the cusp of your 7th hosue of marriage and pisces on yor house of romance. With Pluto tansiting sag, prepare for some dramatic romantic liasons that may or may not last but will definitely give you a new perspective on things. In July mars will go direct on the 19th indicating new opportunities for love relationships if you go out and seek them. This is the time to work on your love life and see where life leads you.

I didn't understand your response to "Rockville" a couple of weeks ago when
you said that Hitler and Ted Bundy had good horoscopes but chose to do evil;
you cited environmental and genetic influences.
If this is so... even if you have an accurate horoscope, why bother? Whatever
you get from being born at a particular time and place can apparently be
cancelled out by your genes or your environment.
What's the point of knowing only one of three determining factors (not even
counting free will) if the other two can so easily change your personality
and your fate so completely?
Charlene Lichtenstein: Good philosophical question.
While I don't have their charts in front of me, an example could be with Hitler that he would have a strong relationship with his mother. Well he did and apparently events took place in his environment that convoluted that strong relationship. Theorists think that his beloved mother had a Jewish doctor attending to her and she died in his care.
WIth Ted Bundy, his chart showed an engaging and attractive personality .... that he used to lure women into his car.
Think of astrology as a hand in bridge (if you play bridge you will understand this better). You are given a hand - good, bad or indifferent that is your hand (your chart wheel)- you play out the cards as best as you can based on other people's play and bidding (genetics and environment?) and you can do better or worse than your hand of cards would imply by the way you play it out.

Charlene Lichtenstein: You make your own success but let's see what the stars say about timing.
You have sun in leo - a sunny personality, generous and gregarious, moon in gemini - you are more platonic than emotional and seek a meeting of the minds, venus in cancer - in one to one relationships, you are very sentimental and loving. You can get hurt easily because you tend to bemore sensitive. Possibly aries rising which places libra on your 7th house of relationships.
I would say that you are seeking physical beauty in a partner and that there has to be a mental connection as much as anything in a reltionship.
July will be an excellent month to get out there and look for a relationship - the sun will be entering leo on the 23rd and transit your hosue of romance and the arts (check out plays, gallery shows, anything artistic...). After the 6th of July venus enters your communication sector and makes you more eloquent and charming.
And finally Mars will turn direct on the 19th and encourages you to travel or seek foreign or exotic venues to meet new people.

You have sun in Sagittarius, moon in sag and venus in sag. Sagittarians sometimes take longer to settle down because they are so full of adventure, independence and ideas that few can keep them interested for long. You possibly have leo rising which places aquarius on the cusp of your 7th house of relationships.
You are very independent and love meeting new people. I see no reason why you cannot meet someone and they will be very unique, interesting and a real friend to you. Join clubs or take classes where you can find people with your interests. You can meet through travel too. Mars is going direct on July 19th in your sector of romance and creativity. Charlene Lichtenstein: I can't resist a birthday question so here goes -
you have sun in cancer, moon in virgo, mercury in gemini, venus in cancer and mars in gemini. Possibly sag rising so I see the next year as one with transforming changes - Pluto is transitng sagittarius now. This will bring new influentail prople to your door and maybe even change the way you appear to others. Mars in Sag also now gives you great oomph to get things done - don't waste the momentum.
Lots of planets now transitng your marriage house. Expect good vibes through July (venus) some lessons to be learned (Saturn) and a bit of luck until the 14th (Jupiter). After that, you sex life may expand, thanks to transiting Jupiter.

So you have sun in pisces, moon in libra, mercury n pisces, venus in aquarius, mars in capricorn. Possibly aries rising which places capricorn on the cusp of your 10th house of career.
You are basically a very spiritual person and very intuitive. If your sun is sitting in the 12th hosue, there has to be a way for you to "give back to the world" with good works or a career where you feel that you are helping others.
With Pluto transiting Sagittarius, it may be squaring your sun which leads me to belive that this will be an auspicious time for any changes - pluto delivers us change and transformation whether we want it or not!
As Mars goes direct on July 19th and begins to move into capricorn on Sept 9, expect your energy level for career goals to accelerate. I would see greater movement at that time as your plans come to fruition.

Charlene Lichtenstein: Well, you have sun in cancer, moon in libra, mercury in gemini, venus in cancer and mars in cancer. Possibly leo rising which places all those cancer planets in your 12th house. The 12th house is very interesting - while it rules spirituality, it also rules our personal prisons - where we lie to ourselves and where we allow others to undo us.
That being said, is it possible that you have struggled with your personal demons and may now feel that you have conquered them?
You feel deeply in love and tend to mother/smother partners. You are basically a very sensitive person and can feel hurt easily. You also strive for emotional balance and this can conflict with your deeper love feelings sometimes.
Right now the sun is transiting your 12th house bringing optimism, strength and hope. ANd, after July 14, lucky and expansive Jupiter enters your twelfth house. Great! I see luck, expansion and great hope for at least the next couple of years.

You seek a true soulmate - someone with an almost spiritual connection. Pluto is currently transitng sag and is squaring your 7th hsoue cusp - this can be transformations and changes in partnership expectations or it may toss an interesting but challenging suitor in your path.
