What's your sign? Do you want to know what the planets and heavenly bodies have aligned this year -- in your career, in romance or surprises in your daily life? "Madame" Lichtenstein, answers your questions on sun signs, lunar influences and all things in the stars.

Lichtenstein's skills run in the family. Her great aunt, Etta Weimar, was the famous Romanian card reader to both kings and queens. A native of New York City, Lichtenstein was educated in Europe where she pursued the study of tarot and astrology. She returned to New York in 1974 and has lived in Greenwich Village ever since, dispensing advice whether requested or not.

Lichtenstein's monthly and weekly astrology columns are carried in newspapers across the country. When not writing or working on her Web site, AccessNewAge.com/zscope, Lichtenstein offers private consultation. She is a member of the National Council of Geocosmic Research and often lectures on both astrology and tarot.

Wondering how Mercury in retrograde affects your day-to-day life? What eclipses means for you and your loved ones? How to get in touch with your rising sign?

Charlene Lichtenstein: Welcome to Starry Eye Astrology. I’m Charlene Lichtenstein, your online celestial seer, ready to answer your questions and engage everyone in a no holds barred discussion about astrology and the new age. Check out June’s horoscope on www.AccessNewAge.com/zscope as well as articles on eclipses, void of course moons and Saturn Returns.

Starbite of the week:
According to The Industry Standard on June 4, 2001, 33% of all soon-to-be marrieds have read their horoscope in the past month compared to 17% of all internet users. Perhaps it helps them plan their weddings?

And now let’s get to your great questions. Please don’t forget to include your birthdate time and place for all astrology questions.

Dupont Circle: Hi, I'm a Taurus woman, bday 4/30/53 6:10 am D.C. This has been a horrific year for me and my family, losing both my father and brother. Will the tides turn now and life get better? The one good thing that has happened to me is a man (bday 9/1/45) and I am hoping that the relationship will continue to progress nicely. What do you think?

Charlene Lichtenstein: I am so sorry to hear that.

Let's check your planets - you have sun in taurus, moon in scorpio, mercury and venus in aries and mars in taurus. Probably taurus rising too. Lots of steady, dependable and stable taurus. You can withstand anything that life doles out.

In love you go after who you want with that robust no-holds-barred aries venus. Emotionally you try not to let your guard down though with secretive moon in scorpio. With taurus rising you have scorpio on the cusp of your marriage house so you seek an intense and passionate partnership.

Your man has sun in virgo - steady and dependabl ehimself. Moon in cancer - he feels things deeply. Mercury and venus in leo - grand, dramatic and fiery in love and communication - just like you with your aries energy. I don't have his time of birth so I can't tell what is on the cusp of his marriage house, but it seems that you two are in sync. Your taurus sun and mars (mars is the masculine energy in your chart) meshes well with his earthy sun and snesitive moon. Your robust venus in aries meshes well with his robust venus in leo.

Stand back world!

Fairfax, Va.: I need to ask what the future holds for me and my husband career wise, we are both thinking of change jobs this year. Also how does our chart as a couple look. He was born 6/12/60 in Brooklyn, N.Y. and I was born 9/11/64 in Shawnee Mission, K.C. (by Kansas City, K.C.).

Charlene Lichtenstein: You have sun in gemini, mercury in cancer, venus in gemini and mars in aries. You are quick and charming and can always empathize with others with that watery moon in cancer. You need mental attraction in love - physical intimacy is not enough. You also look for a friend as a partner.

Your husband has sun in virgo, moon in scorpio, mercury in virgo, venus in leo and mars in cancer. He is a gracious and dramatic lover who likes to be the center of attention in a relationship. He is by general nature conservative, kind and giving. Very clean and precise too. He is an emotional fighter.

If I had your birth times I could tell what is going on in your 10th house of career and 7th house of marriage.

With Pluto in sag right now, expect some transforming changes for both of you since all your gemini and virgo planets will be aspected by this transit. Also, saturn is in gemini now - saturn is the planet of hard work, life lessons and rewards after great effort. It impacts your sun (general personality) and venus (love) and his sun and mercury (how he communicates).

So I see challenges and great rewards if you two put in the effort. Are you up to the tasks?

20005: Me: 4:19 a.m., 4/18/70, Charlotte, N.C.

He: 10/11/69, New York, N.Y.

Crazy mental and physical attraction there, but something is not right. Please advise.

Charlene Lichtenstein: Something not right? Speaking as a New Yorker myself, maybe it's because he's from NY? :-)

But anyway, you have sun in aries, moon in virgo, mercury venus and mars in taurus and possibly pisces rising which places virgo on your marriage house and cancer on your romance house. You are full of energy - from your prodding and plodding on taurus planets and your pioneering aries sun. There is no stopping you once you have made your mind up. It may take a while for you to make up your mind in love, but once you do, you are loyal and true.

So let's check out your NY'er - he has sun, moon and mercury in libra - a true diplomat! He also has venus in virgo and mars in capricorn. He is so interested in reaching accord and avoid discord that he is willing to bend over backward to avoid arguments. He can be earthy in love but may be especially clean there too. He second guesses any action he takes and therefore may appear to be indecisive. He is not but between his need for harmony (Libra) and his fear of making the wrong move (mars in cap) he can apper to be hamstrung.

You do not say what seems to be wrong. Can he be married? (I wouldn't know but all that Libra energy can indicate not being able to get out of one thing into another because you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. )

More information please.

Arlington, Va.: Hi Charlene,

I am an aries, born 3/21/67 at 2:02 a.m.
I am looking to see if the tough time I am going through will clear soon. I am mildly depressed, and my finances are a mess. I have not had a relationship in 2 years. From all appearances I am an attractive, successful person. I feel stagnent in my job and am successful, but without a college education I feel I do not have much hope in finding a new job at same level.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Charlene Lichtenstein: You have sun in pisces, moon in cancer, mercury in pisces, venus in taurus and mars in scorpio. Probably capricorn rising.

You are a very sensitive and intuitive person and I you feel things deeply (sun and moon). You are also an emotional and spiritual communicator and may have headaches or other stress related ailments (mercury in pisces). You love deeply (venus) and are very loyal to a partner.

I am a firm believer of making your own success. Astrology helps us with the timing. That being said, on June 22, as the sun enters cancer, it will also enter your 7th hosue of partnerships. A new optimism and hope! In addition venus, the planet of love is entered your 5th house of romance on the 7th. Opportunities are there if you get out and look.

Pisces folks in general are hard on themselves and they tend to lack self confidence. My advice to you is to harness the strength of mars in scoprio - mars is how we exert energy and scorpio indicates a careful strategic planner. Do your homework, whether for career or love and take careful action. Scorpio energy always succeeds admirably because it is so strong.

Northwest Washington, D.C.: Hi Charlene,

Thanks for taking the time to host this every week! I was born 10/16/1970 at 5:30 p.m. I just started dating a guy born 9/16/1969. Can you tell me anything about our astrological compatibility, communication, etc?

Thanks!

Charlene Lichtenstein: Thank you - I love doing this show.

You have sun (personality) and mercury (communication) in diplomatic and charming libra, moon (emotions)in loyal and sensuous taurus, venus (love) in passionate scorpio and mars (action) in practical virgo. Possibly aries rising which places libra on the cusp of your 7th house of marriage. Relationships are very important to you and you think and talk about them a lot.

He has sun in virgo, moon in scoprio, mercury in libra, venus in leo and mars in sag.

If you are asking about communication in partticular, there must be something going on there. You both have mercury (the planet of communication) in chjarming and diplomatic libra - are both of you just too diplomatic to fully discuss pressing and uncomfortable issues?? Your intense venus in passionate scorpio demands more communication from a lover than your libra planets would indicate. You may want to tell him this.

His venus in leo demands to be the center of attention.... pretty much all the time. He is the king of beasts in love.
This may put stress on your own venus in scorpio which doesn't really like to kowtow to anyone. Yet, Your sun and his venus are well matched and his sun and your venus are also well matched.

If there is any problem here it is in the communication part. Tell him what you need and encourage him to do the same. This relationship can go far - use astrology to make it the best it can be.

Portland, Ore.: Madam Lichenstein,

Could you please tell me where the planets are for my son? I understand that you don't tell the future, but I am curious as to what the planets say about him. He was born 3/1/5/97 at 5:37 am Pacific time.

Thank you.

Charlene Lichtenstein: I think you mean 3/15/97 - hope that is right.
I don't really go into great detail with children's horoscopes because we really don't want to limit them with preconceived notions. The best use of astrology for young people is to see where they may feel more insecure so we can help them overcome any possible obstacles.

He has sun in pisces, moon in gemini, mercury and venus in pisces and mars in virgo. Possibly pisces rising. (I would really have to run his chart on the pc) A Pisces ascendant places quite a few planets in his first house. That is the house of new beginnings, new people, the start of things. He may be a great self starter and gravitate to new things and people.

With all that pisces in his chart he may gravitate to the arts or to religion or spiritual matters. He may be somewhat intuitive and expressive. He may take action carefully - not rushing into things and usually keeping a level head.

Hope that helps.

Falls Church, Va.: I was born on 11/8/61 in Maysville, Ky. My wife passed away on May 29, 2001. Do you see a bright future for me?

Charlene Lichtenstein: I am so sorry to hear that.

You have sun and moon in scorpio (great reserves of strength) mercury in libra ( a gracious way of communicating), venus in libra (charming in love) and mars in scorpio (a tactical person).

Saturn, the planet of problems and challenges is currently in gemini which is making an excellent aspect to your natal venus (the planet of love) as well as your mercury (the way you communicate). This means that after a very difficult period you will emerge sadder but stronger. Use what you have learned over the past couple of years to rebuild your future plans. They will succeed because Saturn is the great teacher.

Eastern Shore, Md.: As a birthday gift, I'd love to have my chart done. I'm turning 60 in a few weeks. I'm curious to know what you see in my chart. Here's my info:
July 2, 1941
12:02 a.m., Washington, D.C.

Thanking you in advance!

Charlene Lichtenstein: Happy soon-to-be birthday. This is a very short topline but I hope it helps.

You have sun in cancer, moon in libra, mercury and venus in cancer and mars in pisces. Lots of water signs in your personal planets - cancer and pisces - making you very sensitive, romantic and kind. You seek consensus (moon in libra) and want to make sure that everyone is having a good time. You are quite attuned to others feelings.

What is especially wonderful about this upcoming birthday is that is it finishing your second Saturn Return - this is a three year period that occurs every 27/28 years or so (so from 27-30 and 57-60). Have you been feeling particularly stressed? Wanted change that didn't seem to be happening? The second Saturn Return is usually the successful culmination of your first SR. Remember what you went through at 30? Read more about the Return at www.AccessNewAge.com/zscope

Expect your next year to include some interesting travels (mars is in your 9th house) that will transform you (pluto in your 9th house too).

Bronx, New York: Hi Charlene;

Thanks for your answer to my question two sessions ago. In answer to your question my co-worker was born on May 9th, 1950. He did not know his time of birth. I had asked about a co-worker who said he could help sell a screenplay I had written and I was inquiring as to what the stars had to say.

Thanks a mil.
Smerdle

Charlene Lichtenstein: Ah the screenwriter!

Your friend has sun and mercury in dependable and hardworking taurus and mars in no-nonsense virgo. I see your friend as having the practical energy to do what needs to be done to get the job done.

He also seems honest (from his plants) and generous.

How does that sound?

Arlington: Hello! I am cancer woman born 7/4/70 at 3: 07 a.m. in Fairfax, Va.

After a long --ha! years long!-- period of general low-grade unhappiness and emotional entombment, I'm starting to feel better about myself and the world. Any insights or advice?

Charlene Lichtenstein: Sounds like you had a difficult Saturn Return which is a three year period from ages 27-30 where we are particularly stressed and feel like things are not going in the direction that we want. After age 30 things start to fall into place - Saturn is an excellent teacher - we can make our own success.

With the exception of a fiery venus in leo, all you personal planets are in cancer making you especially sensitive and loving. Loving in all ways except in love relationships where you tend to be more demanding yet generous (venus). That might have sent out conflicting signals to lovers but now I would say you have learned how to balance your life.

Portland, Ore.: I thought you might like a followup to what you just posted about my sun. You seem to hit the nail on the head. Friday he told me that he was more famous than Degas! He also does not do things until he can do them right.

I was curious about his insecurites.

Thank you very much.

Charlene Lichtenstein: Thanks for the feedback - isn't astrology interesting?

We would really need to run his chart on the pc to get all of the angles just right for a full analysis.

Washington, D.C.: Will my life get better as far as health, finance, new job, love life. Born Friday oct 19, on a Friday at 6:00pm.

Charlene Lichtenstein: The year of birth is very important because the plants change signs everyday of the year - a sun in scorpio one year may be a sun in sagittarius the next.

Bowie, Md.: I am unable to tune in tonight- but am hoping that you'll be able to answer. I was born in Harrisburg, Penn. on 9/25/71 at 3 p.m., life has been a bit crazy lately, will it calm down anytime soon? Also, any insights for love and/or career?

Charlene Lichtenstein: You are in the middle of your Saturn Return so I am not surprised to hear you say that life is crazy now.
I see relief for you beginning around the end of June, a little zetz in Feb / Mar 02 and then clear sailing after that. Learn all you can from life now - you will put it to great use later.

Read more about your return at www.AccessNew Age.com/zscope

Charlene Lichtenstein: We have run out of time! And there are still so many great questions in the queue. Thank you all for your wonderful questions and feedback.

Please join me next Monday (June 18) at 7p for another edition of Starry Eye Astrology.

Until next Monday at 7p, happy stargazing!
